Good news for the waiting kids- I'm praying!

OK, so I've spent a lot of time praying for all the waiting children on the list with our agency. I have such a heart for these guys (and, all but one are boys). I wrote a while back about the 2 boys that I'm praying for specifically, but have been praying for all of them. So, we were asked (ok, I basically begged and told my coordinator that I really wanted to do it) if we could be one of the parents on the adoptive parent panel on one of the training days with them. They let me come (with all of my boys). I had been praying for God to open the heart of at least one person to thinking about waiting children. So after I talked a lot about all sorts of things the people were asking and making sure the kids on the list were mentioned a couple of times, we were getting ready to leave. One of the parents came up to me and said that she and her husband had been planning on doing infant adoption, but after seeing my boys and hearing our story, she decided that the older kids are where her heart is and she will be inquiring of the waiting children!!!! I hugged her- she probably thought I was crazy, but I didn't care! Such an answered prayer and so cool to actually see it answered like that! I'm not done- lots more kids are on there and lots will always be on there, so I have more work to do! Praising God tonight- so awesome!!!!!

  1. Hi Amy,

We were at the training yesterday, too, and when we got in the car, we both said, "we'll that kinda makes me want to adopt an older boy," and when we got home we looked at the waiting kids list. At this point we are not changing from an infant, however, we both said the we would be totally be open to a little bit older boy and that we would see where God leads us. We LOVED hearing your story and it made us so excited about our journey. The last training we were at was all about the attachment disorders, so it was fun to leave not feeling totally freaked out. Thanks so much for spending the time to share with us.
