I'm getting there.....

I feel like I've left my blogging world a little out in the dark if we're not friends on facebook or friends in 'real' life.  We had an absolutely incredible trip to Ethiopia, which I will post about in detail- I promise!  On Friday, May 4, we did pass court and Temesgen became our son (of course, he's been our son in our hearts since November, but this made it legal!).  We got home on Wednesday, May 9 at 5:00 and by Thursday the 10th, a little before 2:00 p.m., my dad lost his battle with esophageal cancer.  I have no doubt in my mind that he waited for me to get home before passing away- there was no medical reason he was still alive.  It truly didn't make sense.  But, I know that God heard the prayers of so very many people- He knew how much I needed to be in both places.  He had this all figured out.  I was able to be in the room with him when he passed away- with my mom and my brothers and grandma and aunt- just the way it should be.  So today was the funeral- a hard day for sure, but it was such a blessing to be surrounded by so many friends and family- some of which I haven't seen in such a long time.  So, I'm getting my life back a little more organized- it's been kind of a crazy week since we got home.  I will get pictures on here very, very soon!  I will leave you with a picture of Temesgen, now that we can do that:).  He's an amazingly beautiful, sweet, athletic, loving 9 year old boy!
