Blessings

I've always heard people talk about stepping out in faith and watching God provide. Shane and I talked about this before we decided to adopt and especially before we agreed to accept the referral of the boys since it's definitely not a 2 for 1 deal:). We knew God also wants us to use our heads sometimes and not go all crazy out of our means. But these past few weeks have been incredible. Ever since we've made this decision to adopt, we have been continually blessed by family and friends. It's truly overwhelming and to say we are thankful doesn't do the feelings justice. There have been things that have come up that normally would make us kind of freak out- having to replace our furnace and now, 2 weeks later, having to replace our hot water heater. But when something has come up, there's another blessing that is right there. Our family and friends have been such role models for living a generous life. It's amazing to share this with Jonah and Landon too and get into dialogue about what it means to be generous and be blessed by generous people. I pray that this will be a lesson that I will take with me forever. Yes, it's good to plan ahead and be somewhat ready for retirement. But blessing people TODAY with your time, money, and possessions is far more valuable that having a chunk of money in the bank. There's no guarantee that we will live to see that money help us out in the future, but there's certainly needs all around us and we can be a blessing to others.
Thanks for reading my ramblings on this- I'm having a hard time putting into words what I'm feeling about this. Matt and Jamie, if you're reading this- THANK YOU- yours are the hearts we want to always have.
