Our dossier left for Addis yesterday (Thursday)!!! That makes me feel so much better- like it could actually start getting translated and approved soon! We got a couple more pics of the boys- so precious!!
I'm reading a giant textbook-like book right now. There's lots of information in there, but it's really kind of depressing. It's all about the problems you experience in adoption- domestic, international, or foster. While it's good to be prepared, I feel like I need to read something a little more uplifting next. We are in no way thinking these boys won't come to us with problems. We are expecting a really difficult transition- maybe not expecting, but at least being prepared for it. When they get here, they will be grieving the loss of so many things and people- it's hard to fathom that sort of loss. Yet, on our side, we're so happy to be adding them to our family. It's a weird sort of situation. Shane and I are both praying for our hearts to be open to them and their hearts to be open to us. We're praying for wisdom to know how to parent a grieving child and a child/ren with behaviors we're not used to dealing with. We're praying for the boys' health and safety every day. We're asking God to wrap His arms around them. It's been nice to get some great pics of them smiling- they look happy- I pray that they are... Wish we could bring them home tomorrow!
