We've been thinking so much about the boys' middle names. We don't know if they'll want to be called by their given names or by a more 'American' name, so we're giving them both options. I can't type their given names here, but we might've come up with some potential middle names. I've had my eye on the name Jeremiah since before we even had a referral- Jeremiah 29:11 is my verse for this adoption (and for the Girls' Rescue Center in Kenya where I went on a mission trip to last summer). It would work with either name really. Then, the boys have said that everyone needs a 'J' name in their initials- we already have an L.J. and a J.C. and I'm even and A.J., so they'd like to be able to add more J's. It would also go well with A's name if he ever wanted to just go by his initials. So many options. So anyways, at a soccer game today, I was talking to my friend who adopted from China about 18 months ago. Her son's name is Joshua and that's one of the names we had been talking about. She said she was reading the bible this morning about Josiah and thought that was a good name with a good bible leader.
I looked it up when I got home (online so they could give me a synopsis of his life:)). He was one of the great kings of Judah who worked very hard to destroy the idolatry in Israel. One of the prophets who served with him during his reign was none other than, Jeremiah. They worked together to rid the nation of idolatry and when Josiah died, Jeremiah spoke at his funeral and wrote a song as well. They seem so connected in the bible, it's neat to think of naming our boys that as their middle names.
So we'll see what actually happens when we get home with them....
On another note, we're praying for a group of our adoption friends who are frantically trying to get to ET- with the volcano ash, there are so many cancelled flights. Plans have had to be changed and there's one family that might not make it this week at all. Please pray for them if you can!
We're still waiting to hear if we'll have to travel if we don't pass court the first time. Not sure when we'll know that. There were 7 people who had court this week (2 for their second time) and none of them passed. It was kind of a depressing week around the adoption boards. So we're praying that we PASS on the first try!!!
Sorry this got so long- have a great night!
