10 days to go

Wow- for so long it felt like it was going to be forever until we left and now it's so soon! We leave in 10 days and we're both getting so excited. I was expecting to feel more nervous as it gets closer- I'm sure that will come when we're Ethiopia bound! There are some families there right now taking pics and sharing a little bit about the kids. I can't believe it's going to be our turn to do that next! I thought I'd post some prayer requests on here. We feel so fortunate to have such amazing family and friends, so many of whom are praying for us. We feel those prayers- trust me!!!! We are both so at peace with all of this.
1. Safe travels to and from Ethiopia
2. That the boys will attach to us well and see us as their parents
3. That we will have wisdom to know how to parent children who have lost so much and will lose more when they leave their birth country
4. For extra patience, endurance and love- when we're there and when we get home and have all 4 boys together
5. For Jonah and Landon's transition to having new brothers
6. For the plane ride home- that the boys will do well and be able to sleep
7. That Shane and I will TRUST God through all of the transitions, especially if it gets hard- that we will lean on Him instead of our own strength
8. We are asking to meet with their birth father- please pray that we are able to and that he's able to give us some information about the boys that they will be able to have for the rest of their lives. I'm also praying that we get to meet their siblings that we just found out about.
9. And lastly, for our health and the health of the boys- my ears are a big concern for me right now, despite the tubes I got put in. We have a drs. appt. for the boys after we get home- just praying for healthy boys!!!
Thanks for your prayers and for following our journey. We feel so blessed that God is trusting us with these precious boys. I can't wait to find out more about them!

  1. I truly hope that the boy's birth father has the strength in his heart to meet with you. I'll be hoping that all comes together. And that you are able to be healthy through all the excitement!
