Just a little update

It's been a while since I updated, so I thought I should do that!:) Things are just moving right along in our house. School is in full swing- Jonah and Landon are there all day and Abuzaid goes in the afternoons, so it's just Kalid and me in the afternoons together. I am AMAZED at how much Abuzaid is learning every day! When I ask him what he learned, he pauses for a while and then says, "I don't know," but I know that so much is sinking in! He knows all of his sounds and can identify at least half of his letters. He can count to 10 and is working on getting to 20. He has beautiful handwriting now and does his homework like a champ. I used to have to hold his hand while he wrote, but now he does it by himself and it looks great! His language has exploded and he is trying to speak in more sentences. He gets excited to go every day and that's the most important part! So proud of him!
Kalid loves having momma to himself in the afternoons. He mainly just takes a nap, but he loves that quiet time at home before the craziness of the 3 brothers coming home from school happens. He has perfected his whiny voice, especially when he's saying any of his brothers' names:). He's such a sweet, smiley boy and he makes us laugh a lot.
Landon loves first grade and loves being a big brother. He feels a little left out that Jonah and Abuzaid have both lost teeth and he hasn't (Abuzaid has 2 more teeth loose too right now). I love his heart and he has talked a lot about adopting when he's a grown up- praying that happens- awesome!
Jonah is the biggest brother and savors that job:). He still has his Ethiopian accent that he uses and he'll even use Amharic in a normal tone of voice when he's just talking to me about something- the words will probably always be in our house!:) He loves 3rd grade too.
This sounds more like a Christmas card now:). Anyway- there have been some sweet boys adopted from the waiting child list- so excited! I know there are some more parents to come forward and that makes me very happy! "My boys" are still on the list (have been for MONTHS and MONTHS), but I've seen other people posting on blogs about them (I think they're talking about them at least) and I think they'll have a home sometime soon. As usual, I pray for the waiting kids out there all the time. I know that if we're supposed to adopt again, God will make that clear to us (and provide a financial avenue for that as well!). It's so hard to go to the orphanage and see the kids who don't have parents waiting for them and not want to bring them home. We don't want to limit what God can do. Right now, I don't think is the time for us yet, but it's tugging at me still. Just praying.... :) Thanks for reading this today!
