Waiting children

Oh, I really should stop looking at the waiting kids site. I keep telling myself that the reason I look is so that I can have pictures in my mind when I'm praying for them to find families. I know some people talk about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie with all of their adoptions. I was thinking about them today when my heart was pulled in towards those boys on the site. If I had as much money as they do, I'd adopt multiple times as well! It's so hard not to once you've done it and seen the need- seen the kids who are deemed 'too old' and 'difficult to place due to age'. The problem is not just the money to carry out an adoption- which is a lot, it's the money to raise the children as well. Resources run out- one income only goes so far. I know that adoption is only one piece of orphan care and we can help in various other ways as well. I know our family has been blessed like crazy already by 2 boys from half-way around the world. I have no real point to this blog post, but my heart is just stirring so much and my prayers are often as I think about the faces of kids who wait. The kids who watch the younger children go home with moms and dads and wait. Wait for their chance at a family. Older child adoption is not for everyone and I get that (I promise I'm not trying to make anyone feel badly!!!). But I think there are people out there who pray about it, ponder it, really think about doing it, but don't. Something stops them. I'm praying for hearts to be open and for the kids out there waiting to find parents to love them- for their chance to leave the orphanage for good to start a life with a hope and a future. Please pray for the waiting children if you can!!!
