Home study visit
We had our first home study visit from our social worker, Sheri, last night. I was a little nervous, but it all went just fine. She's super nice, has 2 boys (though much younger, they're still boys!!!), and is a Christian. All good things!! She was here for about 2 hours and just asked a lot of questions, looked at the house, which the boys were more than happy to give her a tour. It all went really well and was easy. Next Thursday, we meet at a Subway off I-25 (she's coming from Denver so we're meeting half way for the next 2 meetings) for more questions. Tomorrow, we have our first training class in Denver. It's supposed to be on multi-cultural families, which should be really informative- I'm looking forward to it. The paperwork is coming along pretty well. Shane got all his shots yesterday. The prices have gone up since I did mine for Kenya a few months ago- woo- very glad only one of us needs shots now! So we're just cruising right along.... They still haven't updated the waiting child list, so I haven't seen this potential child yet. Still praying about him.... We told Sheri we'd like to be approved up to age 5 (if you end up with someone a little older and your home study didn't approve you for that, you have to go back and redo parts of your homestudy). I think that's about all the updates. Off to school to volunteer...
