It was just a perfect Christmas day- mainly because we got to spend it with family and have fun doing things that have nothing to do with presents! We ended the day with a great dinner and playing games (the grown-ups) while the kids watched a movie. There's a picture with some panda pillow pets. A few months ago, I posted about my Aunt Helen passing away. She was such an inspirational woman of faith and I still miss her (though I know she is celebrating Christmas on a whole new level!!!:)). Before she died, she was in the hospital for a while. One of her friends bought her a pillow pet and she loved resting her arm on it- the arm that had the IV in it. Every time we would visit her, the kids (all 11 great-great nieces and nephews) would play with her pillow pet and thought it was so cool. She knew she wasn't going to make it until Christmas and she asked my grandma and mom to order a pillow pet (and specifically a panda one) for each of the 'great-greats' as she called them. She wanted them to open them on Christmas. My grandma had a friend embroider their names on the tags so they wouldn't get them mixed up. How wonderful that every time I look at one of the boys' pillow pets, I will smile thinking of Aunt Helen and her love for all of us. They had ordered 11 of them before we decided to adopt again. Well, my grandma and her friend wanted to be sure T had one too so they gave him the one Aunt Helen had and embroidered his name on the tag. My grandma wants me to take it to ET with me when we bring him home- I definitely will!
Anyway- great day, great family, great year. Hope you all had a merry Christmas as well!
