3 rough nights

Kalid has had 3 rough nights in a row. The first was the one I wrote about in the previous post. But the same thing has happened the last 2 nights as well. He goes to bed super happy, shouting out, "Ma-tah, ma-tah" and "I love you" as we leave the room. He seems like himself. Then, after about 15 minutes, he wakes up in a big sweat and is crying. He is so filled with anxiety that he can't settle his body back down- he just keeps breathing kind of funny and moving his body all around. He needs to be touching me and I am either rubbing his head or putting my hand on his back. Once he's out again, he's been OK until about 4:00 or 4:30 when he wakes up again- but is easier to lay back down again. 3 nights, same story. When I'm laying down next to him, I'm praying for him and his heart to heal from the obvious hurt he has had in his life. It is hard because I don't know of anything else I can do. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better night for him.

  1. We are dealing with another rough patch of grief at our house too. It is so painful.

  2. Oh Amy, I'm so sorry it's been tough this week. Just know that from everything we've learned, the fact that he is processing his grief is a VERY good sign. Keep being the great Mom you are!
