Oh, it's amazing how much better everyone feels when we all actually get some sleep! Kalid is doing great now! Last Tuesday, we let him cry himself to sleep. We weren't sure we were doing the right thing at all, but we did it. The more we had laid in there with him, the more times he woke up. Shane thought that us staying in there until he fell asleep so many times a night and then him waking up and seeing that we're gone, was harder than letting him cry. So we thought we'd just try, hoping we wouldn't scar him more. The first night was tough- he SCREAMED louder than I'd ever heard him. He started screaming out reasons he needed to come out- shinty, wuh-hah, caca, 'all done fit', etc... He screamed for an hour and then he stopped and didn't wake up the rest of the night! The next night, we let him cry again, but this time it was much softer and lasted for 45 minutes. Now, 3 nights in a row, he's just gone to sleep and hasn't woken up except maybe to get a quick drink, but even then, he doesn't cry- he just tells us. So hopefully he's OK- he seems better all around. His potty training regression that was getting much worse when he was up a lot at night, has completely improved- overnight, he went from having to change his clothes 3 times a day, to never having accidents. Everyone's happier!
School last week went well for the bigger 3- Abuzaid loves it and just watches the other kids to see what they're doing. We're working on fine motor skills at home since those are behind a bit, but I know how fast he'll catch up. He's going to pick up on things so much faster in the classroom half a day than if he would've been home with Kalid and me all day. Kalid seems to love dropping off Ab in the afternoons and then hanging with mom, taking a nap, etc... Good times for us too!
So things are good here- I'll post our amazing family pictures soon!!!!
