He needs me

Kalid's been a momma's boy since day 1, hour 1! He would go to Shane in ET, but certainly that wasn't where he wanted to be. It's been that way ever since we've been home too. He loves Shane and loves to be with him, but if he gets tired or stressed about something, the default position is in momma's arms. Tonight, I wanted to go out with a friend to DQ after the boys went to bed. I had said something to the little boys about momma going bye bye, but that I would see them in the morning. I didn't know that they really knew what I was telling them. We put the boys to bed and then I left. Usually, once they're down, they're down. Of course, tonight, about 10 minutes after I left, Kalid woke up crying. Shane was able to get him to stop crying hard, but he was very anxious and wouldn't stop making this little noise with his breathing. He tried multiple times to put him back to bed (for about 1 1/2 hours) and then he finally called me. He knows it had better be a huge emergency if I'm out for a little break with the girls!:) I came home, laid Kalid down in his bed and laid with him for a few minutes. The little noise went away and he fell into a deep sleep. He needs his momma. I'm his calming, soothing mechanism. He feels most comfortable with me. We've more than bonded- this little boy needs me and I need him! Now, if only I could get the 3 year old type tantrums to stop that easily!!:)

On another note- we went shopping today- to 2 stores. Not asking too much, but with 4 boys, I think it is. I decided that I'm not going to procrastinate making my weekly list anymore. It will be done on Sunday so I can go to the store all by myself! It was a good reminder. Our first stop, we had to take a shinty (potty) break- as we always have to do it seems. There were 3 doors- 2 that went into the bathrooms and one that was the emergency exit. The latter option is the one Abuzaid pushed. Always wondered what it would sound like if that got opened. We apologized and then went into the bathroom and could hear them trying to turn it off while we were in the bathroom. Thankfully, everyone had cleared away by the time we came out and we could walk around the store pretending we didn't do anything!:) That was the beginning of our shopping trip..... :)

  1. Yeah, I've decided it is just way too hard to do any REAL shopping with 4 kiddos in tow!

  2. It is so clear looking at you and Kalid together that you are truly connected! This is wonderful, although my sympathies for the Blizzard Interuptus! Also, so you won't feel too bad, my little guy fell out (yes leaned on then fell out!) of the emergency door at Goodwill a couple of years ago. He freaked! The noise was such a shock he cried and hid in the racks!
